Welcome to Nurturing Community Development Initiative (NCDI) website

Founded in 2006, NCDI is an independent non-profit organization, which specializes in Improvement of Livelihoods, Access to Education and Reversing the spread of HIV/AIDS in rural communities through enhancement of effort towards rural transformation and development with an emphasis on vulnerable groups like women and orphans.

Our key target is rural communities and most especially vulnerable groups including women, orphans, school drop outs, people with disabilities (PWDs) and the elderly.

Thematic Programme / Areas of Focus

SUPPORT YOUTH

Work with schools to ensure school going children carry out activities that help them financially.

PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

Amplifying aims to enhancing and strengthening the capacity of the PWDs for self advocacy

RURAL TRANSFORMATION

Diversify and reduce their reliance on agriculture and also engage in other economic activities like trade.

COMMUNITY LITERACY

Ensure children in Mukono have access to education irrespective of their physical and financial status

AGRICULTURE

Group farming – bulky production and selling, share skills and knowledge

HEALTH

Ensure food and nutrition security at household and community level.

ADVOCACY

Traditional activities such as litigation, lobbying, and public education

RURAL LIVELIHOODS

Engage our people in skills building; detergent making etc…
