Nurturing Community Development Initiatives (NCDI) Africa
Founded in 2006, NCDI is an independent non-profit organization, which specializes in Improvement of Livelihoods, Access to Education and Reversing the spread of HIV/AIDS in rural communities through enhancement of effort towards rural transformation and development with an emphasis on vulnerable groups like women and orphans.
NCDI also aims to reach out to wider audiences – public, policy makers, media, and other non-governmental organizations, development partners – through a variety of forums and means.
The organizations main programme implementation organ is its secretariat headed by the executive director and supported by specialists in different thematic areas. It will also put in place a support unit, which will facilitate the organizations effectiveness in achieving its objectives.

To promote and empower rural communities for thorough innovative planning and integrated approach to rural transformation and development.
Goal
To contribute towards improving the living standard of the vulnerable communities of Uganda through community mobilization, capacity building, advocacy and strengthening of institutions at the grass oot level.
Strategy
A sustainable trategy is devised to achieve the maximum, a need based and right based approach initiated ascertains the problem with fully community involvement and mobilizing all indigenous and local resource. The program goal is materialized with a helping hand from members donor agencies, philanthropists and the communities.
Development Initiatives
Nakifuma Development Initiatives recognizes that in order for civil society to increase our credibility in contributing to policy and development processes, there is need to demonstrate possible alternatives. However, these alternatives come with deliberate efforts of being innovative in our work and proposals, which widen policy choices in solving Uganda’s problems.
