Training of Trainers on Integrating Agroecology into Market Systems and Territorial Markets
Last week, from 18th to 20th February 2026, Nurturing Community Development Initiatives in Africa joined partners from PELUM Zimbabwe, PELUM Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Senegal, and Togo for a Training of Trainers on Integrating Agroecology into Market Systems and Territorial Markets, organized by the Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA).
In one of the discussions, the training focused on strengthening the role of youth and women in sustainable food systems, and it was agreed that there was a need to:
- Integrate agroecology into the school curriculum
- Establish Agroecology Clubs in schools for hands-on learning
- Build skills in school gardening and school feeding programs
- Empower the youth and women through capacity building
The training also deepened our understanding of global and African food systems, challenges, and how agroecology offers a pathway to resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food systems.
At NCDI Africa, we believe in supporting the youth and women to create a stronger, healthier, and food-secure Africa tomorrow.
